A’Bear and Ball Architects LLP received planning permission for a significant residential extension and remodelling scheme in Newbury. The design provides a sizeable contemporary two storey side addition and single storey rear additions to the original 1950’s detached dwelling.
The side extension comprises a timber clad volume with the upper storey cantilevered out from the ground floor providing covered side access to the rear of the property and integration of a secure side gate within the architectural composition. Significant glazing to the rear elevation offers fantastic views over the large private rear garden.
Internal remodelling work to the house is also proposed alongside a new front entrance porch and a raft of interventions to improve the energy performance of the existing house including the application of external insulated render to the brick elevations and high performance replacement powder coated aluminium framed windows.
