Co-founder Rob cycled the iconic LEJOG in support of a local charity

On 4 June, Rob started a self-funded cycle ride at Land’s End with the Witney based cycling club ‘Mickey Cranks’. One thousand miles and ten days later, they made it to John O’Groats having cycled the full length of Britain!

They passed through Cornwall and Devon, over the Severn Bridge into Wales, before passing through the rolling hills of Shropshire and advancing to the rugged hills of the Borders before completing the journey in the magnificence of Scotland.

Rob rode in support of Helen & Douglas House, a hospice charity based in Oxford that helps babies, children and young people living with life-limiting and terminal conditions and their families.

What the donations help with

Helen & Douglas House helps local families cope with the challenges of looking after a terminally ill child. And it’s a place where families can make the most of their time together and create happy memories.

Rob is hoping to raise £2,500 for this fantastic cause. He has currently raised £1,785, which is 71% of the way to his goal.

The charity needs to raise over £3 million each year to care for local terminally ill children at the hospice and at home. So how much can Rob’s fundraiser help Helen & Douglas House?

  • £1,500 can fund 12 hours of bereavement counselling for two whole families who have lost a child or six months of bereavement counselling for three siblings who have lost their brother or sister.

  • £2,500 could fund one of their care teams for a whole month.

This amazing charity is also our nominated charity of the year at A’Bear & Ball Architects LLP. If you’d like to join us in donating, please check out Rob’s JustGiving page!
